Arfa Karim’s grave Under the Flag of Pakista

LAHORE/FAISALABAD, Jan 15: The world`s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Arfa Karim Randhawa, was laid to rest at Chak 4-JB graveyard, Ramdiwali, native town of her elders in Faisalabad district.

Funeral prayer of Arfa Karim offered

LAHORE: Funeral prayer for Arfa Karim, the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), were offered in Lahore and Faisalabad, Geo news reported.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif among various political leaders, officials of armed force and large number of people attended the funeral.On Saturday, Arfa lost the battle of life after remaining admitted in Combined Military Hospital. Arfa Karim was only sixteen years old.

Arifa Karim remained in intensive care at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after suffering an epileptic seizure and cardiac arrest a few weeks ago. After battling for life for 26 days, one of Pakistan’s brightest brains left this world for good.

Born in 1995, Arfa Karim got the honor of World’s Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional when she was only 9 years old in 2004. Bill Gates, the Chairman of Microsoft, invited Arfa to visit the Microsoft Headquarters in the USA in the age of 10 only.

FAISALABAD: Arfa Karim, a pride of Pakistan and world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional who was passed away on yesterday, her funeral prayer offered here in Faisalabad last time. Arfa Karim’s funeral prayer had been offered three times once in Lahore city, once here in Faisalabad city and the third time here in her native town at 15:00 PST (10:00 GMT).

She breathed her last after being in coma for over 26 days at CMH Lahore. Arfa had earned the certification at the age of 9. She died at the age of 16. After her funeral prayer she will be buried in her native town.

Later, in August 2005, Arfa was also honored by the Pakistan Government for the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology which she received from then Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. 

She was also honored with Salaam Pakistan Youth Award in 2005 which has been set up by Pakistan’s only Nobel laureate Dr Abdul Salam. Moreover, Arfa has won the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance..

Arfa Karim Passes Away In Lahore Hospital – 14th january 2012

LAHORE: In what could simply be described as an enormous loss for Pakistan, Arfa Karim, the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), lost the battle of life after remaining admitted here at Combined Military Hospital on Saturday night, Geo News reported.

Arfa Karim was only sixteen years old.

Her funeral prayers will be offered on Sunday at 10 AM in Cantt area.

Amazingly, she was certified for flying a plane at a flying club in Dubai at the age of 10.

Arfa also participated in Microsoft keynote session in the Tech-Ed Developers Conference held in Barcelona, in 2006. The theme of the conference was “Get ahead of the game” and Arfa was in fact a great example of being ahead of the game.

Arfa Karim Randhawa (Urdu: ارفع کریم رندهاوا) – born 1995 –  in Jatt Randhawa family is a student from Faisalabad in Pakistan, who in 2004 at the age of 9 years, became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) in the world, a title she kept until 2008.She was invited by Bill Gates to visit the Microsoft Headquarters in USA. S. Somasegar, the vice president of the Software Development Division, wrote about it in his blog. She also wrote a poem about Bill Gates .

On returning to Pakistan, Arfa had numerous interviews on almost all of the country’s known television channels and newspapers. In August 2005, Arfa Karim received the Fatimah Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology, presented by the Prime Minister of Pakistan at that time. She also received the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award again in August 2005 by the President of Pakistan. Arfa Karim is also the recipient of the President’s Award for Pride of Performance. This is a very high level civil award granted to people who have shown excellence in their respective fields over a long period of time. Arfa is till now the youngest recipient of that award ever.

Arfa Karim has also represented Pakistan on various international forums, she was invited by the IT Professionals of Dubai for a stay of two weeks in Dubai. A dinner reception was hosted for her there, which was attended by the diagnostics of Dubai including the Ambassador of Pakistan. During that trip, Arfa was presented with various medals and awards. She also flew a plane in a flying club in Dubai at the age of 10, and received the first flight certificate.

In November 2006, Arfa was invited by Microsoft to be a part of the keynote session in the Tech-Ed Developers conference held in Barcelona. The theme of the conference was “Get ahead of the game” and Arfa was presented as a true specimen of being ahead of the game. She was the only Pakistani among over 5000 developers in that conference.

Arfa Karim’s condition improving

The condition of world’s youngest MCP Arfa Karim is improving and some parts of her brain have shown signs of improvement.

Arfa fell desperately ill last month and doctors say she has suffered brain damage, leaving her in a coma at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Lahore.

Her father, Amjad Karim Randhawa, said Microsoft had raised the possibility of flying Arfa to the US for care.

She was only nine years, nine months and 11 days old when she became the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional — a qualification usually gained by IT professional and software developers — after demonstrating her proficiency with the company’s software.
